Happy Mardi Gras!
Although I still resemble a Fat Tuesday, I’ve actually lost a pound from the beginning of the year, but zero strokes off my handicap. Not sure that I’m particularly pleased with either result although I can say that I’m glad neither went up.
At the last club event, I took an informal poll among the members that I was able to talk to and it looks like the club is about evenly divided between going to Kona and going to Maui/Lanai. I’ve been talking to Kamaaina Golf & Ski Travel about possibly arranging a trip for us, but they need to know when we might be able to go. You can check out their website (http://www.kamaainagolfski.com/GeneralInfo/home.html) for the packages that they currently offer, but I think that at least some members are also interested in going for 3 days and 2 nights and some are interested in single occupancy rooms as well (I’d pity the fool who’d have to room with me – they don’t call me the lumberjack just because I hit my drives into the woods!).
I’ll be discussing the trip with the Board of Directors on Sunday at 10:00 am at the Navy Marine Golf Course, so if you have any comments or concerns please feel free to stop by and share them or send me or any of the board members an e-mail. I already know that we won’t be able to make everyone happy with some of the decisions that get made, but hope that y’all will understand. There is always next year, particularly if you serve on the Board!
